Introduction
Greetings and thank you for checking out our collection of data captured with audio & video recording equipment while staying at the
Crescent Hotel during the evening of May 22nd and early morning hours of May 23rd, 2011.
I'm healthy skeptic, but I also hold faith that there is more to this universe than what meets our eyes. I've only had one unexplainable experience in my life, it was very vivid and I will never forget it. This happened when I was a young child so to visit Crescent Hotel and actually come home with unexplainable material was thrilling!
I'm not in the business of convincing people that ghosts or other paranormal are real. I built this page to document and describe each piece of evidence as we experienced it for a more enjoyable viewing experience.
Look at & listen to what we have, keep an open mind, and draw your own conclusions.
Electronic Equipment
Cameras: (no special lenses or photo effects, standard flash)
Sony DSC H50
Cannon Powershot D10
Digital Voice Recorder: (wide field setting on, all other settings off, MP3 256kbps 40Hz-20KHz)
Olympus WS-710M
In all photos presented, the original is shown along with an "enhanced" version using a Photoshop adjustment setting called "Gradient Map" with blue/yellow & red outline to highlight areas in question for better contrast.

Sounds are best listened to through headphones, speakers make some of the EVP difficult to hear.
Room 419: Miss Theadora's Room
We stayed in Room 419, also known as Miss Theadora's room named after the lady who stayed there during the building's run as a so called "cancer curing hospital". She was close to the resident doctor... ahem... quack, Norman Baker, who was actually running a mail fraud scam & conducted dissection / organ transplant experiments on cadavers in the basement.
Over the course of the day and evening we snapped several photos in the room, nothing fantastic showed up but we kept seeing orbs in our photos around the closet door. If you have ever watched one of the ghost hunting shows on TV, you will know that orbs are dime a dozen and could be confused for dust and reflections. Because of this, I won't be focusing on the many orbs we captured throughout the hotel rather the more questionable evidence and personal experiences.
On Sunday evening we got dressed and went to dinner around 6:30pm. When we returned the closet door I had left open before we left was closed. I do not remember closing that door before we left, in fact the idea was to leave it open the entire time to make the room appear untidy as claims are that Theadora likes to keep a clean room.
Upon returning from dinner, we snapped some more photos of the room & door. In this photo, you will see faint white streak running vertically and horizontally across the closet door with a faint orb at the top of it. You will also see an orb on the lamp to the right of the closet (could be reflection) and a small white streak at the top left corner (could be reflection from the TV).
It's 2am and we are unable to get to sleep because of the shallow thin pillows and soft mattress. We decided to conduct a late night EVP session while laying in bed. I turned on the recorder and we started asking questions. In the background you will hear some white noise, that is the air conditioner and a small personal fan.
Toward the end of our session, I asked "Is there a cure for cancer?" At the end of the clip, you may hear a very faint female voice respond "NO". We did not hear this at the time, only on analyzing of the recording did I hear this. If you listen very closely with the sound turned up, you can hear the "NO" come across twice, faint the first and louder the second, almost as if the voice was amplified or echoed so it could be heard the second time.
!!! This is best heard with headphones and sound turned up !!!
Female Responds "No" to question "Is there a cure for cancer?"
8:30pm - House Ghost Tour
With thunderstorms rolling in and the rain pouring down we took shots of our favorite liquor and headed to the 8:30pm ghost tour provided by the hotel. They showed us footage from the T.A.P.S. investigation held there in 2005 where they caught a thermal image of a person standing behind a locker with the number "2" glowing red hot. Other than this, they didn't really catch much more.
We walked around the hotel snapping photos and hearing century old stories and history of the place. We photographed plenty of orbs in the hallways but nothing spectacular until the end of the tour.
We made our way down to the main floor at the bottom of the main staircase. Julia snaps a photo looking up the staircase to the 4th floor and catches what looks like a white mist in the shape of a person peering over at us. If you look closely you can make out eyes, nose, ear, shoulders, arm & hand. There are also orbs at the bottom of the photo.

Here are close ups of the mist zoomed in 600%.

Could this be the heinous doctor Norman Baker we are seeing? You be the judge!
After checking out the first floor, we headed down to the basement and the dreaded morgue where the sinister doctor performed his crude experiments on the dead and dying. The hotel has converted a good part of the basement in to a spa, but if you take a small hallway to the left you will arrive to the morgue which is now the maintenance area of the hotel.
In front of the spa is a tile floor where there is a story of a young daughter of one of the workers of the hospital who fell through the openings of the staircase on the fourth floor to her death below where the spa is now.
Nothing was spotted or heard in the basement during our time there. Julia and myself were purposely the last ones to leave. On our way out, Julia caught an interesting image in the window of the spa of what appears to be a small person, a girl perhaps, smiling and pointing to the left. To me it looks like a gnome or one of Santa's elves with a hat, belt & jolly smile! This image was not seen in other photos we took of this area. It appears as if she is looking at the camera, while her body is turned to the left and is pointing left.

Here are expanded views of the reflection in the glass. The first of three is a shot I had taken moments before Julia took hers.

This is the end of our experiences while on the ghost tour.
3:00am - A Late Night Stroll
Even though both Julia and myself were feeling under the weather and going on very little sleep, we popped up when the alarm sounded at 3am to go for an early morning stroll around the hotel to see what we could find. Supposedly 3am is the best time for hunting as this is known at the "witches hour" when paranormal activity is at its peak. We didn't see any people during our time walking around and we covered pretty much the entire place outside of the lobby & basement.
We took approximately the same path as the ghost tour took, starting at our room 419 and working our way around and down. Photos weren't turning up any orbs and all seemed quiet as the storms had passed and the rain was no longer falling.
We made our way down to the second floor, home to Room 218 which is said to be the most haunted room in the hotel. Room 218 is also known as "Michael's Room" as there is a story of a construction worker who fell to his death from the fourth floor to the place where room 218 is now. There are many reports in this room of voices, reflections, name calling, manifestations and even physical contact. The tour guide had told us that Michael especially likes women, and women have reported being groped by an unseen hand. We were glad to not be staying in that room!!
We quietly make our way past the room, all is quiet as we walk the creaky wooden and carpeted corridors when about a minute after we had passed room 218 I said "The rain is gone, the energy is gone. There's no more energy left." Upon analysis of the recordings, a distinct male voice clearly whispers my name "CHRIS". I did not hear this voice at the time, so it was quite startling when I heard this EVP during analysis. At no point had Julia said my name while we were walking around, there is no way anyone could have known my name nor was anyone around (it was 3:30am and everyone was asleep).
Male voice whispers "CHRIS" after I say "The rain is gone, the energy is gone. There's no more energy left."
Closure
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crescent Hotel and to walk away with some spectacular evidence was more than I ever hoped for. To have an unexplainable voice clearly whisper my name really took this to the next level for me. Beginners luck perhaps? Maybe I should start doing this kind of thing more often :-)
Thanks again for checking out this page and I appreciate any comments you have to be put on Facebook where I post this link.
